About
Matteo Mancuso, born in 1996 in Palermo, was introduced to music by his father, guitarist Vincenzo Mancuso. At 11, he was already performing in Sicily's jazz festivals. He later specialized in classical guitar at a music high school. After graduating, Matteo founded the Snips trio, gaining acclaim with their fusion of classic standards. His YouTube video “The Chicken” went viral, leading to a scholarship from Berklee College of Music in 2017. Snips performed at major events like Musikmesse and Umbria Jazz. Collaborating with Yamaha, Matteo showcased his talent at NAMM 2019 and judged the Young Guitar Festival in Bangkok. In 2020, he founded a new trio, which toured Italy and Europe. He graduated with honors from the Conservatory of Palermo in 2022. That same year, he shared the stage with Al Di Meola. In 2023, he joined PFM for their live album and appeared on Stefano Bollani’s TV show. Matteo also released his debut solo album *The Journey* in July 2023. His YouTube channel has over 180,000 subscribers, and he’s been praised by top guitarists like Steve Vai and Al Di Meola.
