The Kools

Alternative Rock

Alternative rock duo The Kools started out as an independent act recording music in basements and self-producing their songs. The band debuted with Dead Serious, a mix of garage rock and blues with hints of grunge and stoner that captured the stripped-down power of the band’s live performances. In their second album The Process released in 2024 the duo explores darker territories. This last work is infused with brutal riffs and vocals tuned into a gloomy frequency. Connected to the revival of garage rock, the raw and minimalist sound of the band is characterized by fuzzy riffs wrapped in atmospheric indie rock drumbeats that enhance the raw simplicity of their arrangements.

The Rocklab Live Sessions are filmed showcases by local bands & artists. Their aim is to promote and document the ever-growing number and diversity of artists from the local music scene, by offering them a stage, regardless of music genre, age and experience. A selection of songs from each showcase will be released digitally later on, to reach a larger audience and provide the artists with a quality live video.
