Jeannot Hutchinson (Wacken Metal Battle Luxembourg)

Shortly thereafter, he felt that something was missing in the local music scene, so in 2006 he started a series of successful metal parties called MetaL Mania. These consisted of live performances by local bands followed by DJ Sets.

Later on, he occasionally worked as a DJ at various bars, most notably at the legendary “Bronx” Bar in Luxembourg City. Shortly thereafter, he  took over the metal show ‘Into The Pit’ on Radio LRB 103,9FM. At the same time, the MetaL Mania concept evolved and Jeannot started a Webzine covering album reviews, concert pictures, outlooks on upcoming events, as well as interviews with local and international bands.

In 2007, he had the opportunity to organize the first Wacken Metal Battle in Luxembourg. Over the years it has evolved into one of the biggest international newcomer contests, which is today hosted in over 80 countries.

After graduating from secondary school, Jeannot went to Cologne to study media and event management at the Deutsche-Pop Academy and acted as a local promoter for Bands like “The 69 Eyes”.

Panel Moderator:
Stephen Lowe (RTL Radio Today)                                                                                                                               Stephen ‘Steps’ Lowe has been involved Luxembourg’s English Language Media for almost twenty years, writing for Station and 352 and cutting his teeth on radio with Ara City Radio. He moved to Eldorado to host their UK Charts and Thank Eldo It’s Friday Shows before being a founding member of RTL Today. Now the GDs biggest and most read news and entertainment source for the English speaking community.

Steps hosts Sunny Side Up – Today Radio’s early morning Breakfast show, the station’s loudest and most aggressive show, the imaginatively titled LOUDER, and the chart-topping music history podcast Song 2.

Steps is a bit of a contradiction being that he is an introvert with imposter syndrome who hosts shows, pods, voiceover works and produces short video content.

Steps enjoys nothing more than passing on his enthusiasm for new music on his shows and lives by the promises he makes for the listeners. “If we‘ve got it, we will play it” and “We are your alternative station, You’ll hear something new every day”.

Steps likes Jaws trivia, McFlurry – caramel, those seeds that spin like helicopters and a good night’s sleep. He does not like, the feet of coffee tables, standing on Legos, unnecessarily sharp and aggressive crisps.
