About
In parallel with the development of the Luxembourg music sector in recent years, several initiatives originating from within the sector itself have emerged, aiming to centralize the needs and aspirations of its various contributors—songwriters, artists, performers and industry professionals. These associations and federations are integral to the success and sustainability of the music sector. They play an important role in advocating for the sector’s interests and fostering an environment conducive to professional growth—alongside other key contributors.
This panel will explore the missions and activities of four federations active in Luxembourg’s music scene and discuss how they support the music community and create new opportunities for artists, songwriters and music professionals.
Associations & Federations:
L’Alliance Musicale is dedicated to bringing together, representing, and defending the common interests of various professionals in the music industry in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Member include professional concert venues, halls, and organizers, as well as professional choirs, orchestras, and musical ensembles.
L’Alliance Musicale also provide a platform for professionals and aspiring professionals in the music scene of Luxembourg. Their aim is to create an internal exchange and cooperation among our members, while serving as a strong and effective voice for them. They strive to better serve and support the music community in Luxembourg by focusing on the diverse branches of the sector.
ASPRO (L’Association Luxembourgeoise des Professionnel·le·s du Spectacle Vivant):
ASPRO is a non-profit association whose mission is to bring together independent professionals working in the various fields of the live performing arts, to legitimately act on their behalf, and to defend their shared interests with a unified voice—both in front of public decision-makers, cultural institutions, and in the media.
Currently, ASPRO is prioritizing the following areas of focus:
- Pricing negotiations with producers
- Inclusion of live performance artists with specific needs
- Abuse of power
- Eco-responsibility and sustainability
- On-stage safety
FAMIL is an upcoming association dedicated to performing musicians in Luxembourg. We represent their interests, defend their rights, and create opportunities for professional growth while fostering a dynamic, supportive network of artists.
Their Mission:
- Support and defend the rights of musicians with institutions, media, and the music industry.
- Improve working conditions and establish professional standards.
- Promote collaboration and create spaces for networking, mingling, and artistic exchange.
- Strengthen the cultural influence and recognition of performing musicians.
FLAC (Fédération Luxembourgeoise des Auteurs et Compositeurs):
The FLAC, Fédération Luxembourgeoise des Auteurs et Compositeurs, their activity encompasses the various aspects of the profession of composer and singer-songwriter across all genres: classical-contemporary music, film music, jazz, and popular music. Its aim is to improve working conditions for composers, combat violations of the Code of Ethics, and address unfair treatment. It also seeks to establish standard rates, particularly for remuneration. In this way, it works toward the professionalization of the profession and fair recognition of Luxembourgish music.
