About

Born and raised in the surrounding area of Lecce, these six musicians took their first steps into the alternative music circuit, catching the attention of the public mainly thanks to the large amount of live shows they performed. Their debut album was released in 2003 with the self-titled album “negramaro”. However, it was with the album “000577” (from 2004) that the band began to establish itself. The album who saw Corrado Rustici produce some of the songs, built an artistic collaboration which would be repeated for “Mentre tutto scorre” (2005) and “La finestra” (2007). Between January and April of 2007, negramaro moved to the United States to follow the production of the new album “La Finestra”. The CD was recorded at Plant Studios in San Francisco and mastered at the Sterling Sound Studio in New York. In January 2018 negramaro were the first Italian artist to gain a cover on Billboard. That summer the “Amore che torni stadium tour 2018” negramaro played in six stadiums for 175,000 people: no other Italian band had ever played six stadiums in the same tour. That following Autumn they set off on another big indoor arena tour of 20 concerts for 150,000 fans. In October 2019, to celebrate their 20yr career they held a special event in collaboration with Vanity Fair, where a preview of their documentary “L'anima vista da qui” was presented at the 'Festa del Cinema' in Rome. On the 29th of May 2020, following a series of messages on Instagram, “Better days” was published, an original song recorded long distance together with One Republic. The 9th of October 2020 “Contatto” was released, the first single and title track preceding the bands 10th studio album which was then published on the 13th of November. negramaro dedicated and exclusive event to present the new album: A live streaming from inside a Hypercube which offered the viewers a technological, interactive experience. On February 14h 2022, the new Italian tour was announced, a tour that will travel to 14 Italian cities and 10 large European ones.
